In one sentence: UAE Completes First Cross-Border Digital Dirham CDBC Payment Worth $13.6M to China.

The central bank of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has completed the first cross-border digital dirham transfer via the mBridge CBDC platform. 

Here’s the bulletin version:

  • They sent 50 million dirhams (worth $13.6m) to China using the multi-CBDC mBridge platform.

  • They sent this money because of the golden jubilee celebration of the central bank.

  • This cross-border payment was done by ‘mBridge’.
